1967 Coronet that Outlived its Barn
"Here are some pics of a Mopar I found. This is a '67 Dodge Coronet R/T, it's been sitting for a long time! It's sitting on a barn floor. It was inside a barn before the barn collapsed on top of it which broke some of the glass and dented the roof. The barn was eventually cleared away, but the car is still there. It's a 440 automatic car, the top end was stolen off of it during its long sleep. The owner says it's not for sale, he is going to fix it up one day. Yeah right!. I was talking to him and he is under the impression that it will only cost a few grand to restore it. Again, yeah right! It's pretty bad underneath."
East Texas Fairlane 500
"I saw this '63 Fairlane 500 on a recent trip through East Texas. It was mixed in with a handful of late model junkers parked behind a small house. Pretty far off the beaten path. Based on the style of the Texas license plate, looks like it's been sitting for a long time. But it's in great shape."
An Oddball Chevelle?
"This 70 Chevelle has been sitting since 1980! That's the last sticker on the plate. We have known about it for years. So one sunday afternoon we stopped by a couple years ago with my dads '70 LS6 4-speed and my buddy's '70 396 4-speed. He finally came out and talked to us when he saw the two Chevelles parked in front of his to pay respects to the the fallen solider. He said he bought it a couple miles up the road back in '74. L78 396, 4-speed, 410's, non cowl induction, no stripes, green on green with green vinyl top, bench seat, NO gauges! Solid lifter engine without a factory tach! Said it ran GREAT! Always adjusting valves though...swapped out for a hydro years later. Spun the mains one cold morning not letting it warm up. Then wiped out the clip one snowy day going to get the wife from work when the truck broke down (hence the yellow paint coming through) then added the stripes. Kept breaking input shafts so he swapped out for a super T10 in the late '70s. Otherwise original driveline with 43,000 original miles! Odd combo. Not For Sale! Father/son project. It's so rusted it will be a MAJOR project to bring it back now! "
