A '69 Shelby and a '69 Mustang
"I had heard of one of my dad's friends owning a 68 Shelby GT500. So we took a little trip to go see it. But to my surprise it was actually a 69 Shelby Mustang sitting in the guy's shed. I was a little disappointed until he mentioned a 69 Mustang Fastback. So we walked into his car-filled barn only to find a beautiful 69 Mustang Fastback sitting in his barn. It had a different ford pickup engine in it but the original 302 V8 was sitting right next to it. What a find!"
"This big bad orange AMX is sitting near a garage in a field in Maine. The owner has had it since new, and even though it's now only good for parts, he will not let it go. The engine, I'm told, is in the garage where it has sat for many years, probably since the car was still roadworthy. It has been sitting so long the drivers window has fallen out the bottom of the door ."
A '72 Camaro Gets Rescued
"This is the '72 Camaro I just picked up. The guy I bought it from is a real car guy. In his shop he had a whole wall of pictures of cars that he had restored. I asked him if he would part with the old Camaro, and he said, 'Well, I don't think I'll live long enough to restore that one, and I want to see as many old cars on the road as possible. So give me $500 and it's yours.' I agreed and now it's in my shop getting stripped down waiting for some new rear quarters to show up. It's nice to know that there are still guys out there that will sell a car instead of letting it rot."
