Cougar Can Happen

"I was driving to New Gulf, TX to visit a closed sulphur plant. I like to explore abandoned buildings and had a free Saturday so I decided to take a drive and take some pics. As I was driving down the 2 lane roads, I started to notice that the land, in general, and houses looked abandoned. This area is not in the path of development and it appears people have moved away from the area. As I drove past one particular abandoned house I noticed a car sitting next to it. I went back to investigate and found this Cougar. The Cougar is in really bad shape; probably too far gone except for a few parts. The roof is completely eaten away. I have never seen this happen to a car before. Someone pulled the engine, but it was nowhere to be found. I could probably locate the owner via property records, but it is not worth the trouble. I did enjoy the fact that it had Rocket (Cragar copies) wheels. And just to add a little mystery, it has an Iowa license plate."

"I found this Charger sitting in a storage yard. It's complete and looks solid, but it appears to have been sitting for a long time!"

"I have been after this Impala since I was 14. It's a true 348ci auto Impala. Every time I stopped and asked the guy about the car, he'd yell at me 'ITS NOT FOR SALE!' before I would even get out of the car. I drove by the Impala every year until it disappeared. I found out later on down the road the gentleman had passed on. My friend's coworker had bought it and was willing to sell. We agreed on the price, and now she's mine. The car is very rough now. Might not be worth my time and effort, but I'm going to try to bring it back to life. I did also find out that this Impala was in a mid 1960's hot rod magazine at some point. This car was someone's hot rod back in the day. Red, white, and blue tuck and roll interior. Also the inner fenders were cut out to accomodate headers."
