Changing Hands Charger
"I heard about this car from a good friend of mine. He said the man who owns it is a younger man. When I saw it, I didn't think there was hope. But I got to digging around and checking it out and I fell in love. I was just coming to look, and I didn't expect to be able to buy it. But he sold it to me! It's going through a full restoration. Just a normal car, 318 bench seat, auto on the column."
Convertible GOAT on the Farm
"I found this '66 GTO convertible on an old farm. Pretty bad, and of course not for sale!"
"I scored another classic car recently and thought others would like to know that there are still cars out there and they can be had for a good deal. It is all a matter of timing. I found this Nash on craigslist in the barter section. I contacted the owner about it and we went back and forth for a few weeks. It took 3 weeks before we could get the timing right so I could take a look at it. The car had most of the interior removed and the rusted areas of the floor were cut out and discarded. However, it was all there! It shows 21,xxx miles on the odometer. The story goes that it was removed from a barn in Washington state and had not been on the road since 1965. I can’t say this is accurate but, other than the floorboards having rust, the body is in excellent shape! The title I got with it was signed over in 1976 so I am certain it has not been on the road since then, probably earlier than that. Someone had brush painted this car at some point. It was originally Sunburst Yellow. It has the Packard 320 cid V-8 in it and the Packard Ultramatic auto trans in it. There were only 8,805 of the car produced in 1955 with this option. I gave the car to my girlfriend who now has it titled in her name. We are in the process of completely dismantling it for a full restoration. I can tell you that the items I bartered with to get this car cost me less than taking yourself and 3 friends out to dinner at an inexpensive restaurant! She is excited to get her chance at restoring a classic car and I am having trouble keeping up with her!"
