"This is a 1971 AMC Javelin SST that was down the road from me for years in CT. I never knew what I was looking at all those years I was driving by but now that I'm a little older I can appreciate it. I was about 14 when I got interested in muscle cars so I recognized this one when I saw it in a back yard. Eventually I went to the guys house to talk to him and he said he had been offered big bucks by a bunch of people in the past and was reluctant to sell. So after bugging him for a while he admitted he would take $4,000 for the car. To a 14 year old thats alot of cash so I doubted I would ever own it. I spent the next few years flipping and restoring British sports cars with my dad and saving my pennies. After about the 3rd flip car I had enough money to buy the Javelin. By that point the car was pushed farther back into the tall grass and left to rot. Much to the mans surprise I was back and I had the cash in hand. So with a jump start and a gallon of gas she fired right up and made the drive to my house that I had been waiting so long for. The man said he had all the original parts in his basement including the hub caps, original intake manifold, wheels, and other accessories to go with the car. That was in May of 2012. Now I'm 18 and use the car as my daily driver to get to school and have fun with my friends. The car has 100,000 original miles, very little rust, original paint, the original matching numbers 304 and original interior. It has never been restored, aside from complete mechanical overhaul to make it road worthy. Dreams really can come true."
Apache Picked Up
"Here are pics of a 58 Apache that has been near my house ever since I was a liitle kid. Me and my father have tried for years to contact the owner and could never find anyone home, finally we moved a few miles away, and moved on. A couple of weeks ago we stopped by and got hold of the owner who had just retired. What we found was a 1958 Apache straight 6, 1957 Chevy 4-door wagon with small block muncie 4-speed, 1970 cuda 340 4-speed, and a 1940 ford buisness coupe. We finally got to make a deal with the owner for the 58 Apache and 57 chevy, while i was there helping get the cars out I also saw a 60's corvette roadster in the garage."
"This guy lost his property to the bank, I got a call saying they were hauling out some old cars. The pictures are what I saw when I arrived Dec 2012 but they already moved atleast 20 others that had been in the barns and storage containers for years. They told me where he was talking all the stuff and I got in touch with the owner but he would not sell anything, Fastbacks, Hemi's, engines, hoods, bucket seats, consoles etc."
